Environmental Education
This course invites teacher candidates to explore environmental education as an interdisciplinary, relational, and justice-oriented field of practice. Drawing on theory, lived experience, and land-connected learning, students examine historical, social, political, and cultural dimensions of human-environment relationships, with particular attention to climate justice, Indigenous ways of knowing and being, and inclusive education in the Nova Scotian context. Through inquiry-based, experiential, and outdoor learning approaches, candidates develop pedagogical tools and philosophies that support ethical, hopeful, and transformative teaching for more just and habitable futures. Three credits.
