Through an equity and social justice lens, this course will explore how the medical and public health needs of vulnerable, underserved populations are met in Santa Barbara County and beyond; careers in service of vulnerable, underserved populations; and the politics of underserved medicine and public health, including intersectionality. Student learning outcomes will include increased understanding of the social and political drivers of health and of career opportunities for pursing pathways for being of service to underserved populations.
