A First Course in Algebraic K-Theory

4-None

An introduction to classical algebraic K-theory, focusing on the lower algebraic K-groups K0, K1, and K2 of commutative rings and their basic properties. These groups are fundamental invariants in algebra and geometry and also have connections to number theory and topology. The course explores some of these connections and known computations, and also focuses on relations with Galois cohomology, class field theory, Brauer group, and related arithmetic invariants. Prerequisites include basic knowledge of groups, rings, modules, and fields.
