Continuity and differentiability of a function of several variables, gradient vector, Hessian matrices, Taylor approximation, fundamentals of optimization, Lagrange multipliers, convexity, gradient descent. Prerequisites: DSC 210. Restricted to students within the DSC-MS-001 and DSC-PhD-001 major.
