Electrostatics and magnetostatics; electrodynamics; Maxwell’s equations; plane waves; skin effect. Electromagnetics of transmission lines: reflection and transmission at discontinuities, Smith chart, pulse propagation, dispersion. Rectangular waveguides. Dielectric and magnetic properties of materials. Electromagnetics of circuits. Prerequisites: MATH 20D-E, PHYS 2A–C or 4A–C, and ECE 45. Open to EC26, EC27, EC28, and EC37 major codes only.
