This course involves intense engagement with original Chinese sources as a way to explore the evolution of the Chinese Communist Party and the contemporary Chinese economy. Students will be exposed to government, media, and statistical sources. Recommended preparation: At least second-year, college-level proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is expected.
