Literary Methods in Asian American Studies credit:

3 Hours

What can Asian American literature teach us about the study of literature and culture? This course will think beyond mere representations of diversity and inclusion by examining what difference can teach us about the power structures in place. It will focus on genre, form, and close reading to expand our understanding of creativity and innovation in texts written by underrepresented groups. Foundational theoretical and methodological concerns found in Asian American studies will be introduced.
