ARTH 241
Modern Art, 1880-1940 credit:
How did artists reconceive how art looks and functions in response to social, political, and technological changes accompanying modernization in Europe from 1880 to 1940? Topics include the avant-garde, the relationships between modernism and “primitivism,” pure abstraction, responses to war and political upheaval, modern design, and realism.
