Advanced Surfaces and Colloids credit:

The specific goals of this course are (1) describe classical models and experimental methods with a focus on the solid-liquid interface, to identify their limitations at the fundamental level when applied to complex systems (e.g. biointerfaces, polymer brushes, microgels, etc.), and to discuss the state-of-the-art extensions of classical theories, and emerging principles based on recent literature. The course also aims to address the student’s research interests, which is pursued through literature discussion and term papers. Same as MSE 544 . Prerequisite: CEE 442 .
