FAA 240
Disability in the Arts credit:
Critically examines issues of access, embodiment, and representation in art, design, film, and the performing arts. Whereas cultural producers and institutions shape our understanding of disability, this course will explore/interrogate how disability is constructed, communicated, and represented in the arts. Through creative projects, artistic research, and a series of regular viewing/reading discussions, students will develop a personalized critical and aesthetic vernacular through which to engage contemporary Disability/Crip discourses.
