Figures and Figurations of Crip/Disabled Arts and Culture credit:

1 Hour

Access/accessibility is something we make together that responds to the needs and desires of each of our bodyminds. This course will critically engage issues of access, embodiment, and representation in the arts through a survey of pivotal figures that shape Crip/Disability culture. Through this we will develop an understanding of how disability is constructed, communicated, and represented in the arts. This course will emphasize locating and transforming access/accessibility in our daily lives applying the body of knowledge developed by each figure/figuration surveyed.
