UP 425
Equitable Land Use credit:
Planners have recognized for decades that the tools, policies, and practices of land-use planning perpetuate and reinforce spatial inequity by race, ethnicity, class, ability, and family status. In this course, students will learn to identify patterns of spatial inequity within cities; distinguish features of land use plans and regulations that obstruct or advance equity; and offer recommendations to make city plans and zoning ordinances more equitable. 4 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: Restricted to Juniors or permission of the instructor.
