Calculus II

3 credits · Undergraduate

This course focuses on integral calculus for a single variable. The course covers the definition of the natural logarithm as an integral and the exponential function as its inverse, integration by parts, techniques of integration, volumes by slicing and shell techniques, improper integrals, numerical integration, and applications of integration (e.g., computing arc lengths, surface areas, moments and centres of mass), calculus of parametric curves and polar curves with special emphasis on applications of integration in computing areas and arc lengths in polar coordinates. It also covers sequences, numerical series, power series, and Taylor's theorem. Prerequisite(s): MATH 100-3
