This course is an introduction to number theory. Topics include the integers, divisibility, Euclidean algorithm, primes, unique factorization, congruences, systems of linear congruences, Euler-Fermat Theorem, multiplicative functions, quadratic residues and reciprocity, nonlinear Diophantine equations. Prerequisite(s): MATH 220-3 or MATH 224-3
