Critical Theory of Games

A research-based course in which students are introduced to recent developments in the field of critical theory of games, and how thinkers in the public humanities draw on games to ask and answer questions in theoretical realms such as narrative, agency, language, identity, rhetoric, and economics. The course will culminate in a capstone digital humanities project in which students share their original research as a podcast. No gaming experience or equipment is needed.
