BIOL 224

Animal Body Systems

3 credits · Undergraduate

Understanding how animals survive and reproduce in their environments begins with exploring the foundation of organ systems. In this course, students will build foundational knowledge of how cells, tissues, and organs function together as organ systems across a diversity of taxa. We will examine how these organ systems work together to maintain animal homeostasis, and investigate how organ systems have evolved in response to unique environmental challenges. Lab experiments will compliment lecture material, allowing students to investigate how their own organ systems function and respond to the environment around them.
