Plant Cells and Tissues

3 credits · Undergraduate

The cellular architecture and subcellular organization of vascular plants are examined with a focus on plant cell biology and tissue differentiation. Students analyze the structural and mechanistic basis of plant cell organelles, classify major cell types, and evaluate how patterns of tissue organization support plant growth and specialization. Through laboratory study of live plant material, students develop proficiency in advanced microscopy, anatomical analysis, and interpretation of plant structural diversity.
