An interdisciplinary introduction to community engagement, community-engaged learning, and related philosophical and ethical issues; introduction to skills and competencies needed to work effectively in community; participation in community-engaged learning and research projects, and the development of critical reflection techniques from social science perspectives on experiences of community engagement. Includes hands-on engagement with community partners and organizations.
