Topics include: Kinematics and dynamics of rigid bodies; analysis of planar rigid body motion using translating and rotating axes; two-dimensional rigid body dynamics using force/acceleration, work/energy and impulse/momentum methods; applications to one degree of freedom planar mechanisms and vibrations; introduction to three-dimensional rigid body dynamics. * Indicates a 3 hour laboratory taken by students on alternate weeks.
