Voodoo in Popular Francophone Culture and Fiction (in English)

Introduces the basic concepts of the religion of voodoo in Africa, the Francophone Caribbean and Louisiana. Differentiates facts from fiction, especially in terms of recognizing the stereotypes emanating from Hollywood and understanding the authentic bases and elements of a religion practiced by over 25 million people in the world. Includes an experiential learning component.
