DANCE 376
Low Fly Technique
Students learn low fly technique, a rope-and-harness-based component of vertical dance that integrates ground-based movement with near-ground suspension using rock-climbing gear. Through experimentation, play, and shared practice, students explore their relationships with the floor, air, and with gravity - discovering new pathways for momentum, weight, orientation, and flight. Prerequisite: either DANCE 104, DANCE 107, DANCE 110, DANCE 117, DANCE 166, DANCE 186, DANCE 201, DANCE 204, DANCE 212, DANCE 217, DANCE 232, DANCE 239, DANCE 245, DANCE 286, DANCE 301, DANCE 304, DANCE 310, DANCE 317, DANCE 375, or DANCE 386; recommended: two quarters of any studio-based dance technique or equivalent.
