Taxonomy and Indexing Construction

Explores the design, construction, evaluation, and maintenance of controlled vocabularies and how users are integrated into the design process. Through development of a thesaurus, taxonomy, and ontology, prepares students to design index languages, plan and implement a design project, and evaluate indexing languages. Prerequisite: either LIS 530 or IMT 530. Credit/no-credit only.
