Introduction to the Fantastic in literature, in contrast to realism, and how the concept has been adapted by Latin American authors. May focus on a particular writer: Augusto Monterroso (Guatemala) or Julio Cortazar (Argentina), or survey various authors. Prerequisite: SPAN 312 or SPAN 313.
