Functional Analysis

Undergraduate

This course will cover normed and Banach spaces, bounded linear operators, dual spaces, Hahn- Banach theorem, uniform boundedness principle, open mapping theorem, Hilbert spaces, operators on Hilbert spaces, and weak and weak* topologies. (Prerequisite: MATH-4580.) (3 lecture hours per week.) (May be offered as a cross-career course with MATH-8120.)
